Sea World

Mom, Brianne, Kayden, Preston, Gracie and I all went to Sea World today. We ate breakfast with La La (what Preston calls Elmo) I though Preston would have been scared but he LOVED it.

We had so much fun, we also saw Shamu

Played in the water

Of course what else would you expect from all this excitement but

Happy Half Birthday

Today is Gracie's 6 months birthday. I can not believe it has gone by so fast! She is still so small to me and in actuality is much smaller than her brother was at this age.

I couldn't imagine life without her!

One of the good things about being at Grandma, is that she has a buying complex. (I will admit to not discouraging her) So when we arrived we had several outfits for the kids, and then after going to sea world today, we stopped by the outlets and came home with two bathing suits and several more things.

As a child when ever we got new clothes we would model them, so here is Gracie modeling her swimsuits:

Scroll Down

I have updated several posts so scroll down and work your way back up.

Preston

Man this kid gets more fun each day. He LOVES swimming so Alan took him out to the hotel pool:

He is such a good kid most of the time, I was amazed at how well he did on the plane. It wasn't a cake walk to fly with two kids alone, but Preston certainly made it easier for me than I thought it would be.

Yesterday, my mom and I were getting ready to go to walmart and I had left the bathroom door open, I heard water splashing so I went in and got Preston out of the bathtub where he had gone into and played. Well I was standing in the kitchen area and looked up and saw this:

He had taken the ducks from the bottom of the tub, that keep him from slipping and stuck them to the back door!

We got him a little table to eat at, here he is for breakfast this morning:

Grace

A few weeks ago I decided that I wasn't comfortable with her bumper being in her crib because I would often go into her room to find her smushed up against it and I was worried she might suffacate. So I took it out, this was the result:

We put it back on after a few days.

She has also started sucking on her toes!

And, attempting to crawl:

That is not our green carpet, it was at the hotel!

Shift Cookout

Here are some pics from our shift cookout with Alan's Fire Department.

At least we were there with Fire Fighters in case it got out of hand!

Updates

I have been very neglectful these past few weeks. We have been really busy. I am taking summer classes so those are taking up a good amount of time, Alan has been busy with work and the kids are going all day long! Here is what we have done the past few weeks, I will post pictures in following posts, they are uploading!

I have mentioned liking Garden and the people here, we especially like the camaraderie that the fire department has. Weekend before last we had a shift cook out, with all the families from Alan's shift, it was alot of fun. Preston discovered the trampoline which he thought was great! The next night Alan and I had Jen watch the kids and we went to the race track where two of Alan's shift mates race midget and dwarf race cars. It was so much fun to watch them and be out there for support.

Preston went to his first birthday party! It was a Diego/water party so they played in a pool, slip and slide and had a Diego pinata. He had tons of fun. Heidi, if your reading this thanks for the invite.

Grace is on the cusp of crawling, she can do the army crawl and she gets on all fours and rocks back and forth. We hope she does it soon.

Alan is training for his second job as a TSA Screener, he has to be in Wichita for 8 days and tells me being there by himself s quite boring!

The kids and I went out to Wichita with him since we flew out of there on Wednesday for a three week trip to FL. It was interesting having two kids in a hotel room all day long. Preston slept in the King bed with us and kicked, scratched and pretty much moved all night!

One last thing, while going crazy in the hotel room, Preston was climbing up on one of the chairs and instead of saying climb he said, sube (sp?) which is climb in Spanish! Man watching Diego is teaching him something!

OK off to post the pictures from our few weeks.

Randomness

We have had a good week. I am really starting to like it here (sorry mom)if our families were closer it would be wonderful, but since they aren't we make the best of what we have. Just this week we have:

Gone to the $1 for adults free for kids HUGE public pool 3 times! It has a great kiddie pool, slides, diving boards and allot of swimming space. Preston loves it and it isn't so bad being able to work on the tan!

Had playgroup with a great group of mom's. I think this is one of my fav. things.

Went to a softball game for Alan, on a league with great guys, and won! It was tons of fun, even though it was blowing dirt at about 25mph and when I got home Jennifer laughed because I had a dirt mustache and dirt raccoon eyes, from wearing my sunglasses to keep the dirt out of my eyes!

I know it doesn't seem much. But when your home going out and doing things on the cheap is great. Next week we are having at the zoo, did I mention said zoo is FREE and has most of the animals you would find at a regular zoo.

Preston is getting to be so much fun each day, he says things that amaze me. He will watch a show and answer the question they are asking, he says excuse me after I burp! He said I love you daddy to Alan the other night unsolicited. He just walks up to us and gives hugs and kisses for no good reason. And I think one of my favorites, when he gets hurt he will walk up to me or call for me and point to/pick up hurt body part and say "kiss"

Here is a pic from this week, I made Banana Bread and he wanted to lick the beater, he also snagged the spoon when I turned my back!

Preston saw me playing Peek-a-boo with Gracie's feet the other day, so I caught him on camera doing it, she thinks he is much funnier than I am. One draw back is, he is not supposed to lean on her swing, or really mes with her while she is in it, well Gracie thinks he is so funny, that she encourages him to break the rules by laughing at him. Poor kid, it caused an early bedtime last night because he was literally laying on her swing after multiple times of asking him not to. Gracie thought it was funny!

Rafting

As promised here are the pics from our rafting trip.

When we got there we were informed the water temp. was a whopping 38 degrees! We had to put on wetsuits and splash jackets to keep us from turning into river ice cubes! Luckily we did not get a pic of us actually putting them on, just imagine lots of tugging and adjusting!

This is the view, gorgeous huh!

Our guide John told the people in the boat the could jump in if they wanted, and of course Alan did! He quickly realized how cold 38 degrees was and proceeded to really wedge himself in the boat so he didn't fall out again!

Jessie and I were smart and stayed dry!

It was so much fun, I would recommend it to anyone in Colorado. We really wanted to do the full day trip under the Royal Gorge bridge, but duty called (Jennifer and Grandma Cleo were watching the kids) Next time we will though!

Picture Overload!

Man- We have been busy. We had a great time in Colorado with our families. We got to visit with Heather's Grandparents as well as spend most of our time with Alan's family. Besides hiking, which Alan so nicely put, I couldn't cut it! We also went Whitewater rafting on the Arkansas River. It was so much fun. As soon as Jessie gets the waterproof camera pics developed I will post them.

Anyway Here is a menagerie of our trip and a few things happening this week:

This is to prove I really was on the mountain ready to hike!

This is the view from Grandma Cleo's back yard!

She sat up by herself for the first time on her 5 month mark

I thought Gracie Looked Really cute in one of her outfits MeMaw bought her
Preston has graduated to the table with us, so Gracie gets the highchair
Cousin Lucas put Grace to sleep like an expert
Papa and Gracie became quick friends!
This is my Mama's grave site, I hadn't been to visit since her death

We really have had a good week. The kids are doing great.
on one last good note, Alan finally got the job offer from the TSA. He will start training on the 23rd. Luckily it is such a flexible ob it won't interfere with the fire station and still leave family time.
