Not as young as we think!

This past weekend Alan had a charity softball game to play in, guns vs hoses. The game was supposed to start at 11 so I got the kids out of the house and went to get some cash, Alan called at like 10:45 and said they were starting early, I got there at 11 and walked up to the dugout to see Alan sitting on the bench with ice on his foot, he had slid into second base and hurt his ankle, he wasn't even safe! I asked what he wanted to do and he said go to the hospital! So I wheel the kids back to the car while two firefighters carry Alan, I really wanted to take a picture but decided to give him some shred of dignity! It turns out he has a severe sprain and has to stay off it for a few days. So I am at home taking care of three kids! Alan isn't really a kid and he is being a trooper about it. He is just proud he didn't cry in front of his coworkers and the police on the other team! I have reminded him several times he is no longer 16 and in a little over a year he will be 30!

My cousin Jason his wife Amber and their two boys Wyatt and Noah also came to visit on Saturday. While Alan hung out at home we went to the zoo. It was HOT outside, we had fun though.

I am not using a zoom at all you can get that close to the animals!

I actually stuck my camera through the fence. They were really close.

And lastly, Gracie is crawling, well at least her version of it, she has been moving herself from point to point for a few weeks but she is now starting to move her hands and get places faster:

Home Sweet Home

After I posted last week about Gracie being sick, I must have jinxed myself, I was so sick Wednesday-Friday, we almost thought we wouldn't be able to make it home on Saturday because I was feeling so bad. Luckily, when I woke up Saturday morning I was feeling better and we made it home.

Both kids were great on the flights.

On Friday Dad took Preston to Dinosaur World:

On Saturday, I went to wake Preston up so we could leave for the airport and this is what I found:

When my mom and I went to the outlets we found some cute headbands made from tights, they were 10 dollars so I thought I would make my own, this is my first attempt:

For my birthday my mom replaced the Ipod Alan ruined, It helped keep Preston occupied on the plane

Busy Week

We have had a busy week! I am finishing my degree online, so I had 5 tests and 3 major papers due! Thankfully it is all done and I can rest until Fall starts in September.

We are still in FL. We go back home on Saturday. This past weekend we went to the water park Sea World has, Aquatica. I didn't take any pictures because I forgot my camera and didn't take anything with the waterproof one we had. Preston played in the wave pool, lazy river and he went down some waterslides with mommy. We may go back one night this week, it rained on us halfway through so we had to leave early. It has some really cool rides though, one that goes through a dolphin tank! Although you are going to fast to notice!

We also had some health issues, Gracie woke up Friday with a fever, I thought oh, she is just teething, well mid day after her nap it jumped to 103! Her pediatrician just told me to watch her, we went to the water park Saturday and when we got home after her nap it had gone to 103.7 so I took her into the after hours pediatric and they said she had an ear infection, so started her on Antibiotics, well Sunday she was acting tired just laying on my chest during church etc. when we got home she had a dirty diaper and it had blood in it! So we took her back in and they said it was the antibiotics and to stop them, so now she is better!

We also had Buzz, Amanda, and Jacob over Sunday for our pretend birthday for Preston, since we will not be here for his birthday we celebrated it early. I am planning on having a Diego Themed part for his birthday in Garden City so I used this as a test run for the cake. I made Rescue Pack (Diegos backpack) I wish I could have done more details but with all of Gracies issues I didn't get much of a chance. So I have several changes I am going to make for his party in August. Here it is:

We forgot candles so we had to use a taper candle we cut in half.

Great Explorations

Brianne and I went to a hands on kids museum today. I think Preston enjoyed it but was a little overwhelmed at times:
