Fall Festival

The city here has a fall festival we went to yesterday. It was pretty small, but Alan was there for the department so we spent some time with him.

Fall Fun

The kids and I went with some friends to an apple, pear, and grape orchard today. Sadly, the apples were mostly gone, but we did get 24 pounds of Pears and Grapes.

The kids really enjoyed the pear picking, Grace particularly enjoyed stepping on the rotten ones!

The grapes were amazing, I am pretty sure my children ingested about a pound of grapes a piece while picking the grapes. They were so pretty, perfect little bunches.

I really want to go back in October for pumpkins and their late apples (granny smith, fuji etc) I am not sure I will be able since Collin will be a newborn then. Maybe that is something the kids can do while my mom is here. (hint hint)

Here are some pictures,

The Craft Bug

With Collin coming soon, I needed to get his room in order. I decided to make his bumper and bed skirt and it just snowballed from there! I also recovered the glider, made the curtain and a curtain for the closet. Then I added a fish theme with some canvases above his wall, some painted fish, a towel hook and finally decoupaged the letters for his name. I was going to applique fish to the bumper and curtains, but I thought that might be to much.

We also made an upholstered headboard for our bed. It was super easy.

In other news, Preston loves school and Gracie is getting more girlie by the minute! She LOVES shoes and jewelry. Here she is the other day with my heels and some new bracelets from Me Ma

First Day of Preschool

Today was Preston's first day of Preschool. He was really excited to be going. He did really well, until he decided he wanted to go inside and he had to wait in line. I think it was a combination of excitement and a little fear. When we left he was OK.

We have been really busy around here trying to get ready for Collin. We moved Grace from downstairs to upstairs, painted her bed, got her a new bookcase and vanity and I re did her letters for her name. We are also making a headboard for our room, put some new things up in Preston's room and put a screen door on our backdoor.

I have also, made Collins bedding, curtains and closet door curtain. Plus we repainted the glider we had and I recovered the cushions on that. As soon as everything is in I will take some pics.

We are not quite ready for him to be here but we are getting close.

Happy Birthday Alan

Alan turns the big 30 today! I think he is having a little issue not being in his twenties anymore!

Happy Birthday babe, I hope your day is all you wished for! You are the best husband and father I could ask for.

Lessons learned!

So Saturday was my birthday and I have learned that as you get older birthdays just are not as much fun! I did learn somethings though:

Plan for 4 hours at the hair salon when you really only thought it would take 2(I was so hungry when I left!)

Make sure to place Rte 44 diet coke in actual cup holder, so you don't spill its entire contents on your van floor (thanks babe for shampooing that up)

Even if you are really mad at your 3 year old for playing in the potty, DO NOT try and slam his door, especially when your finger is in between the door and frame. (Also, if bleeding, do not run around house shaking your hand, it will fling blood drops everywhere!)

After a full day of bloopers, be thankful for your wonderful sister in law who watched you kids while you spent a wonderful evening out with your hubby!

Thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday.

Happy Birthday Preston!

Today, my little boy turns 3! I can not believe how fast time has gone by for us. It seems like just yesterday we were at the hospital waiting for him to be born. He is such an amazing little boy, and we are so blessed to have him in our family. He is a great big brother and an awesome helper for me. He learns new things each day, and amazes us with the things he comes up with. He is so imaginative. I can't wait to see what this next year brings and how he will be with his new baby brother.

We love you Preston!

Animal Park and The Beach

We went to the Animal Kingdom on Monday. The Safari they had was pretty cool, they also had some good things for the kids. Unfortunately, when Alan, mom and dad went back to ride Everest it was shut down.

Alan, the kids and I went to the beach this morning. The water was awesome! the kids really had fun finding shells and playing in the water. We certainly took this for granted when we lived here.
