Boo at the zoo

My mom and Alan took the kids to Boo at the Zoo last night. It was the last thing mom got to do with them before she went home:( It has been really nice having her here for two weeks.

Grace was a witch and Preston was a pirate.

Collin Matthew Montgomery

On Sunday October 4th, I started feeling really uncomfortable. About 11:30 am I started to have some pretty bad back pain. The time able contractions started shortly after that. So after calling the hospital, I decided to go in to just get checked.

When they checked me, I hadn't made any change from the week before when I went in with contractions. The nurse said they would just monitor me and then decide what to do. She checked me again around 1 and I was the same. I thought for sure I was going home. She called the Dr and he said he would be in to check me shortly. Around 3:30 he came and checked me, he said I was a little more dilated but not much. I was still having consistent contractions so he went to call my Dr. and said he would make the call. I still thought I was going home. Then all of a sudden he comes in and says, your having the baby today! Since I had to have a repeat C-section they didn't want to send me home having contractions, and have me go into really active labour. So I had to call my mom, who ended up having 30 min to catch a flight, she ended up making it from Fl to here in just over 9 hours. I also had to get Alan there since I left him at home with the kids. It was CRAZY, I was shaking really bad because I was so nervous!

So Collin was born at 5:17 pm on October 4th. He weighed in at 7lbs 3 oz and was 20 1/2 inches. He is our smallest baby, ironically Grace was our biggest. The C-section went really well, It was odd walking into the delivery room on my own. The spinal was awesome, much better than a standard epidural. It was a much better experience than with Preston.

We are all doing well, the kids are adjusting well also. Here are some pictures from the past week.

Fall Festival

The city here has a fall festival we went to yesterday. It was pretty small, but Alan was there for the department so we spent some time with him.

Fall Fun

The kids and I went with some friends to an apple, pear, and grape orchard today. Sadly, the apples were mostly gone, but we did get 24 pounds of Pears and Grapes.

The kids really enjoyed the pear picking, Grace particularly enjoyed stepping on the rotten ones!

The grapes were amazing, I am pretty sure my children ingested about a pound of grapes a piece while picking the grapes. They were so pretty, perfect little bunches.

I really want to go back in October for pumpkins and their late apples (granny smith, fuji etc) I am not sure I will be able since Collin will be a newborn then. Maybe that is something the kids can do while my mom is here. (hint hint)

The Craft Bug

With Collin coming soon, I needed to get his room in order. I decided to make his bumper and bed skirt and it just snowballed from there! I also recovered the glider, made the curtain and a curtain for the closet. Then I added a fish theme with some canvases above his wall, some painted fish, a towel hook and finally decoupaged the letters for his name. I was going to applique fish to the bumper and curtains, but I thought that might be to much.

Here are some pictures:

We also made an upholstered headboard for our bed. It was super easy.

In other news, Preston loves school and Gracie is getting more girlie by the minute! She LOVES shoes and jewelry. Here she is the other day with my heels and some new bracelets from Me Ma
