Adios Kansas!

Well for those of you who have not heard. We are moving! While I was home in Florida on October, my mom lovingly asked about us moving back. She has done really well these past three years but us living in Kansas has been really hard on her. She misses the kids and they really miss her, and my dad and Brianne and everyone else. In the past when my mom has asked my answer was always, find us a job and we will move. This time when she asked, a thought popped into my head "He needs his paramedic, that won't happen in Kansas since he has to work two jobs." So I mentioned this to my mom, to say she was excited is a major understatement, I think she may have even done a dance! So I mentioned it to Alan he almost immediately agreed. In the past he was not fond of moving back. So it all fell into place, I think it was just the right time.

So we have asked for a transfer with the TSA and if all goes as planned we will be moving in February. It will be hard to go down to one job/income again. It is also good timing since Preston will be starting school next year and once that happened we would not have been able to visit my parents nearly as often.

We have made some good friends here and will miss them. Alan will especially miss his shift mates, they are like his second family.

We are excited; as it gets colder here we get even more excited. Wish us luck!

We're Not in Kansas Anymore Toto

Well we are now, but we weren’t for Halloween. We went to visit my parents in Florida for the last two weeks in October. Both for Halloween but to also celebrate my sisters 30th birthday. In honor of our current residency in Kansas we decided to do a Wizard of Ox theme for Halloween. Grace was Dorothy, Preston the Tin Man, Kayden the Scarecrow and Collin was the Lion. Liam was a Flying Monkey, though as a 3 month old he didn’t do much flying! Lomi (Brianne’s dog) was supposed to be Toto, but Adam poo-pooed our Idea to spray paint her black :( We also had Buzz (Alan’s brother) and Amanda over with Jacob who was Buzz Light-year and Cha Cha who was Woody. We had fun despite the horrible mosquitos and 80 degree weather.

We also spent time at Disney and Sea World while we were home visiting. It was fun to see the kids get so excited over the characters at Disney.

Kayden wanted to be a pirate

And then he saw himself in the mirror

In other news, we are doing well here. Preston is enjoying pre-school. Grace is becoming more of a drama queen each day, she is rapidly approaching the torturous threes and it shows. Collin is walking and getting into everything. He is mischievous and will laugh while running away or torturing his sister. I am pretty sure he will turn out to be like his daddy was as a kid, including multiple trips to the emergency room! Next time you see Alan ask him about toothpicks.

We're not Dead!

To say I have neglected blogging would be a HUGE understatement! We have been very busy. A day or so after we got home from Florida in February we found out our landlord was selling our house! So we spent a frantic month trying to find somewhere to live, you see in a small town like ours rentals are slim pickings. When you find one you have to jump on it, we saw this house on a Thursday and had moved in by the following Tuesday! We finally found a place, and while much smaller, it has fit our family well. Although, having all three kids in the same room has been an adjustment!

Since I last posted we have planted a garden:

We also went to Texas to visit Alan's dad and stepmom in April for Easter. We had a ton of fun!

The beginning of this month we all went back to Florida to celebrate Alan's little brother's wedding. I would have pictures from this beautiful event, however, I was stuck waiting for a tow truck to tow the Uhaul Alan got stuck in the sand!
The kids and I stayed an extra week to spend mother's day with my mom. Alan went home so he could go on his annual fishing trip to Red Feather, Co with my dad.

Greetings from Florida

The kids and I are in FL for the month of Feb. Unfortunately, we brought the cold weather with us! Oh well!

The kids have been having a blast playing with Mema, Deda, their aunts and uncles, and cousin. Last weekend we went to the largest dude ranch in the world! This weekend is the state fair.

Here are all the pictures: (Warning, there are tons)
